Port St. Joe: Day 3, Hoola by the Poola

Chapel service on the boardwalk - talking about the great love of God

Great day at Blue Skies - except for the pouring down monsoon rain showers practically all day!!!! However, we did get a beautiful chapel time in for a few minutes in the morning. We talked about God's great love for us, as we were overlooking the beautiful beach and coastline.

Then all the kids went off to their small groups.  These are called H2O groups. The groups included activities like sports, mad scientist, play time for the little under-5 crowd, art, fishing, cooking, and Outdoor Survival Training.  The parents of the guest families all attended a support group session with a pastor who helped them have space and freedom to talk through some of the difficult issues they face.  This is a special time for them to make friends with others going through similar times.   During this 1 1/2 hour time period, some of the women went around and  cleaned the condos for the guests.

Fruit Skewers for the Hawaiian luau party

Right around lunch time it started raining. It pretty much rained all day.  Some people watched movies in their rooms, some played card games in the common meeting areas and some took much needed naps!  Dinner was Hoola by the Poola night (Hawaiian chicken, rice, salsa, fruit skewers, and pina colada cake) and it was quite yummy.  Each day, different family groups are assigned to help with dinner preparation during the afternoon.

Survivor games at the pool - Yes, most of my pictures did not turn out very well! But they had a fun time.

We are enjoying seeing God work in these families lives as they are beginning to relax and let go of some of the stress they have been under.
