We are wrapping up a long, opening day in the DR. We had the normal travel delays, turbulence, and customs confusion, but the boys were very patient and cooperative through it all. Brad did a great job leading us and keeping us organized and safe through the entire process.
After we got settled at the complex, we had some spare time to walk across the street to the beach. The short walk allowed the boys to get a glimpse of the local village and life in the DR.
After dinner, we had orientation and the Director amply scared the boys about dehydration, bed crumbs, tarantulas, sea urchins, black outs, and clogging toilets. He also challenged us to use this week to fall deeper in love with Jesus.
Tomorrow's plans include church and baseball practice.
