East Africa: Tuesday's Teenies- Graceland School

(Tuesday's post was delayed due to faulty connections, but worth the wait!)

Beyond the bounds of city center, past miles and miles of street-side markets filled with people selling their wares (everything from beds frames and clothing to vegetables and shoes), the stand-still jams open to bouncy dirt roads, at the end of which - for this team - stands Graceland School: a small, private institution with 225+ of the most gracious, well-behaved children ever. The 22+ teachers, Director, overseer, and Principal run the school from 6:30 am to 6 pm for children from birth to 8th grade. Many of the children also reside at the school, either for safety reasons, or because they have nowhere else to go.

After lunch with the teachers, the team presented the school with gifts of support, encouragement, and two suitcases of books for the children to read and enjoy. Our ministry partner, Solomon, and his wife received the team in their home for dinner. The team was overwhelmed with the enormity of their hospitality. A cup of tea, followed by prayer for all and a group hymn, brought the perfect ending to another fabulous day of ministry and blessing. Tomorrow - off to the airport to clear customs and head to our next destination!
