Thursday, we completed our work on Si's home. We were able to: 1) reinforce framing and put up sheetrock in one room and 2) finished Sheetrock and primed 2 other rooms in the basement. The homeowners were very happy with the work and progress that we made. So it was a very successful trip!!!

We are about to board our plane and headed back to Marietta. Thank you for all your prayers!

New York: Staten Island Warriors Day 3

Transient

Yesterday, started with our daily devotional and  trip to Home Depot to pick up supplies for our work site. Amazingly, one of the workers at Home Depot recognized Jim from our trip here in December. Proving that you can have an impact wherever you go!

Both teams continued work at our sites. Good progress was made...but a lot of work needs to be done. We spoke to the home owner and neighbor who expressed their frustration with government organizations, insurance and the lack of progress. Please pray that our work here will be an encouragement to the home owners, neighbors and the community of Staten Island. This sign on the front of a house says it all...

New York: Staten Island Warriors Day 2

Today, we split up into 2 groups. Score International is partnering with the Movement Church on Staten Island which assigns our work site. Jean and Carol stayed at the headquarters and organized their inventory of tools...which they have in abundance. The rest of  group worked in the basement of a home that had 17 feet of water from Hurricane Sandy. We repaired structural issues and worked on mudding, taping and sanding drywall. We worked hard, had a great treat of ice cream and are looking forward to another great day tomorrow.
